Laser Treatment

What is Endovenous Laser Treatment?

VenaCure Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) is a clinically proven in-office solution for the elimination of varicose veins, a condition that can be both cosmetically unappealing and unhealthy. Up until fairly recently, invasive procedures with potentially lengthy recovery times were the standard when taking care of varicose veins, but now, with the help of laser technology, there is no need for general anesthesia or hospitalization, the risk of scarring is minimal, and patients can return to their regular daily lives right away. Best of all, varicose vein laser treatment only takes about an hour and is covered by many insurance providers.

How Can We Help?

f you are interested in varicose vein treatment, the first thing we will do is determine whether you are eligible for VenaCure EVLT. If you are a good candidate for the procedure, we will create a plan based on the number of veins that need to be treated.
The typical laser treatment procedure is fairly simple:
It starts with a local anesthetic to numb the leg
A laser fiber is inserted into the vein through a small entry point
A laser is emitted through the fiber as it is pulled through the vein
The energy from the laser causes the vein to seal tightly

While the goal of the procedure is to seal off troublesome veins, there’s no reason to worry — the veins being closed account for less than five percent of the body’s blood flow, which will now route itself to healthier veins instead.

VenaCure EVLT is performed in our office, and depending on the number of veins targeted, the procedure can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or swelling, which can be treated with over-the-counter pain relief medication.
