Male Breast Disease

What is Male Breast Disease?

Male breast diseases can take a variety of forms, including gynecomastia (enlarged breasts), breast cancer, and the appearance of abnormal tissue masses such as a cyst or an abscess.

How Can We Help?

Treatment varies on a case-by-case basis. In the case of gynecomastia, we can surgically remove the excess breast tissue. In the case of an abscess, this will need to be drained either in the office or the operating room. If there is a palpable breast mass, we will sometimes order imaging studies such as a mammogram or ultrasound and sometimes a biopsy will be performed. Other times, we excise the mass in the operating room.
